How treatment works

  1. Case assessment. We start with a simple set of photos to see whether clear aligners could be suitable for you.
  2. Records and digital plan. If treatment is right for you, we take photos, X-rays and a digital scan of your teeth. We then create a digital treatment plan and show you what your results could look like in a 3D video.
  3. Your aligners. You receive a series of custom-made aligners to wear every day and change at home, on average every 1–2 weeks as directed by your dentist. Because they are removable, you can keep up your normal oral hygiene routine and enjoy your usual diet.
  4. Regular reviews. We invite you back around every 4–6 weeks to check progress and hand over your next aligners. At the end of treatment you wear retainers to maintain your new smile.

Why people choose clear aligners

  • Clear and discreet, so few people notice you are straightening your teeth.
  • Removable, so you can brush and floss as usual.
  • You can take them out briefly to eat, drink or for special occasions.
  • Before you start, you will know roughly how long treatment may take and what your teeth are expected to look like at the end.

Your questions answered

How much do clear aligners cost in Chafford Hundred?

Clear aligner treatment at Chafford Hundred Dental Care starts from £1,995. Your exact fee depends on your teeth and is confirmed in writing after your consultation.

Am I suitable for clear aligners?

Many adults with crowded, gapped or mildly misaligned teeth are suitable. A consultation with one of our dentists, including photos and a digital scan, is the only way to know.

Do clear aligners hurt?

Most people feel some pressure for a day or two when they switch to a new aligner. There are no brackets or wires, and your dentist will explain what to expect.

How long does clear aligner treatment take?

It varies from person to person. Your dentist will give you an estimated timescale in your digital treatment plan before you start.

What happens after treatment?

You wear retainers to keep your teeth in their new position. Your dentist will explain how and when to wear them.
