Many people think clear aligners are only for straightening teeth, but they can also be used to help with some bite issues.
Common bite issues
- Overbite: the upper teeth overlap the lower teeth too much.
- Underbite: the lower teeth sit in front of the upper teeth.
- Crossbite: some upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth.
- Open bite: the front teeth do not meet when you bite together.
How aligners help
Using digital planning, your dentist designs a series of small, staged tooth movements. Some cases also use small tooth-coloured attachments or elastics to guide the teeth.
Is it right for me?
Not every bite issue can be treated with aligners alone. The only way to know is a consultation and assessment with a dentist.
